Rabaul Port > Bitapaka War Cemetery > Kokopo War Museum > Japanese Barge Tunnels > Rabaul Hot Springs & Mount Tavurvur volcano sightseeing > Rabaul (New Guinea Club) Museum > Yamamoto Bunker > Rabaul Port
- Bitapaka war cemetery – Visit the WWII graves located approx. 50Km South of Rabaul. The war cemetery was established in 1945 and is home to the fallen WWII casualties.
- Kokopo War Museum – established in the early 1980s, and is home to a range of WWII artefacts including “Type 97 Te Ke Tankette” Tank and “Anti-Aircraft Gun Type 93”
- Japanese Barge Tunnels – carved out during WWII as a refuge for soldiers and their belongings. See right up close the Barges which are still visible in the tunnel.
- Rabaul Hot Spring & Mount Tavurvur Volcano – located approx. 6.8km South-east of Rabaul. Sightseeing excursion. Take photos and enjoy the naturally occurring hot spring scenery. Visitors are advised not to test the water.
- Rabaul (New Guinea Club) Museum – less than a 10minute drive from Rabaul lies the exhibits of the remains of the War in Rabaul. Just opposite is Yamamoto’s bunker.
- Yamamoto Bunker – built by the imperial Japanese navy during WWII. There’s lots of WWII Japanese war exhibits to see. Just opposite is the Rabaul (New Guinea Club) museum.
